A 1·0 m3 moist soil sample weighs 20·0 kN. The water content of the soil is 10%. The specific gravity of solids, Gs can be assumed as 2·7. With this information, fill in all blanks in the phase diagram. Also determine the void ratio and degree of saturation of the soil sample. Assume unit weight of water, Yw = 9·81 kN/m3. Water Solid Vt = total volume, Vy = volume of void, Va = volume of air, Vw = volume ofwater, V=volume of solids, Wt=total weight, Ww=weight of water, Ws=weight of solids.
