The relationship has vast potential as – - Economic engagement – JOGBUSD FDI 2020 cooperation in science & technology cooperation with UK on innovative as – Horizon 2020 with France on climate change - Strategic cooperation – as geopolitical union of India and France, connecting as – IMEC, blue dot network – People to people engagement – 2-4 million, per capita of Indian origin in the region. in lower bracket partner – Free trade Partnership negotiations stalled. 2. Political reasons – EU stands has been vocal in raising human rights issues in Kashmir as letter Citizenship Amendment Act which are sensitive issue for India. 3. IPR issue – where EU demand sticks IPR right protection in India for its investment. 4. Connectivity issue – It also acts as a hurdle in realization of full economic potential. 5. New carbon sleds taxes proposed by EU will significantly impact India export to EU market on – Steel export. 6. Lack of figment & genuine engagement – also delays the dialogue & discussion on key issues. Steps taken to resolve potential – 1. Recent Trade & Economic Partnership against with 4 EU nations as – Norway, Sweden, etc
2. Launch of unilateral trade Partnership between India and EU. 3. Joint cooperation in Maritime domain as – Anti-Piracy operation, Maritime exercise. 4. EU supporting India's Green Grids Initiate. 5. India & Sweden launched head IT 2.0 at COD28.
